Silica Dome GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

Silica Dome is a cool-looking rounded peak in the heart of Valley of Fire State Park. It's a popular view point, and many wander from the viewing area and up to the summit of this minor peak. I followed a dirt road leading east from the Fire Canyon/Silica Dome parking area. Once I noticed some pretty slickrock on the northern slope leading to Silica Dome's high point, I left th dirt road and headed toward it. A bit of easy Class 2 slab scrambling led to the summit, where there are some really nice views into Valley of Fire.
