Technical canyon warning

This is a technical canyon requiring canyoneering skills and specialized equipment. If you are not experienced with building anchors or using the gear required for technical canyoneering, do not attempt this route.

Mar 26, 2017 — Middle Pine Creek Canyon is definitely a classic. While frigid, especially when we did it in March, it was a great canyon with incredible slot canyon features. The highlight for me was a section called "The Cathedral", a cave-like section where a rappel leads into a gorgeous pool. It's a short canyon, but a ton of fun. You pass Lower Pine Creek Falls along the way back. Sorry for the poor-quality photos with incorrect timestamps plastered all over (why would that be a default setting?!). Risking a broken DSLR beats getting crappy photos.

  1. Start by going under the bridge. Already, we were getting wet.
