Jul 4, 2014 — The Rock Garden Trail starts from the floor of the canyon and ascends to the rim above. It was less crowded than the more popular Lighthouse Trail. The trail gets its name from the first part of the hike, where the path winds through a landscape scattered with massive boulders. At the top of the Rock Garden Trail, I extended the hike by taking the Fortress Cliff Trail and Scrub Oak Spur to reach a marked canyon overlook. Higher up the rock garden features fade away, and are replaced with nice scenery looknig down into the canyon.
