Mitchell Peak GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

Mitchell Peak was more work than I thought it would be, since on a map it appears very close to AZ-191. It ended up being a decent hike on a very old an no longer maintained trail. I parked at the H L Saddle Picnic Site and crossed the street to locate a dirt road that led up to a cattle gate. Aftering passing through, the dirt road descended a few hundred feet. When the road met up with a dry watercourse, I left the road and headed southeast at a small cairn. There was no obvious trail to follow for the first couple hundred feet, but I was able to locate the remains of a trail shortly after. I marked the section in question in purple on the attached map. Once on this trail, the going was straightforward, only the last quarter mile including some overgrowth, but nothing to worry about. The views were nice at the summit of Mitchell Peak, and there was some sort of human-made device up there. On the way back, I took a few minutes to search for the start of the trail again by the dirt road, but with no luck.
