Threat to Our Public Land!

Recent proposals could transfer or sell off national forests, BLM land, and wilderness areas. This threatens the trails, wildlife, and access we all love. Once they're gone, we don't get them back.

The push to sell off public lands is being driven mostly by Republicans. What's frustrating is that many who vote for this party still love hiking, hunting, and exploring. If you keep voting for politicians who promise to "cut red tape" and "shrink government," don't be surprised when your favorite trailhead is fenced off and leased to a mining company.

Kendrick Peak GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

Kendrick Peak follows a really well-maintained and popular trail. The trailhead is accessible by any vehicle and starts traversing east along the foothills of the peak. The trail then heads up the southern slopes of Kendrick Peak, switchbacking to keep the grade very gradual. The trail wraps beneath Kendrick Peak's southeast slopes and gains its east ridge. A half mile or so before the summit I passed a cute little cabin with campers all around it and finished the ascent with a slighty steeper section. The Kendrick Peak summit lookout tower sits atop the summit. There are nice views of Humpreys Peak and the surrounding Flagstaff area.
