Kanarra Creek Canyon and Kanarraville Falls GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

A great hike to the classically photogenic Kanarraville Falls. Starting from the pay-to-park trailhead, walk along a dirt road that leads to the entrance of Kanarra Creek Canyon. Expect to get wet from this point forward. You'll get to Kanarraville Falls (or Kanarra Creek Falls, whatever), a beautiful, small waterfall set in some red sandstone narrows and accentuated by a pretty little wooden ladder that regularly gets fixed. Most people turn around here, but I couldn't recommend continuing up more highly. The narrows open up for a bit, but small waterfalls, lush greenery, and bright red sandstone continues farther up the canyon to a second waterfall. This waterfall had some ropes and a much older ladder, but was similar to Kanarra Creek Falls. Even fewer people continue past this point, but again, I highly recommend continuing. You'll stumble into a wider canyon with sheer red rock cliff faces on either side, simply incredible. I continued on a social trail well past the narrows through some brush until it was clear I had passed all the most interesting stuff before turning back.

The trail is easy to follow, and crosses Kanarra Creek many times before you start to realize it is easier to just stay in the creek rather than follow the trails.

Second falls up ahead. There is a less well-kempt ladder here, and after the second falls I only saw one group of people.

I turned around about here. It looks like the rest mellows out. Looking at a satellite map, this is the last bit of red rock.
