Diana’s Throne Canyon GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

This is a technical canyon. If you are unfamiliar with how to build anchors or the gear required for canyoneering do not attempt this route.

Diana's Throne is a short canyon outside Zion's east side near the small town of Mt. Carmel. It's a great beginner canyon, but otherwise not particularly exciting. From the trailhead, we followed a web of dirt roads that are hard to describe to the head of the canyon, where a wash led us to some pretty narrows. We were able to skip all but one rappel by down-climbing or using webbing as a handline. Diana's Throne opened up toward the end, only to narrow again into the prettiest section of the route before opening up a final time. A social trail exists a bit down the wash that led us back to the dirt road and then to the trailhead.

The only rappel we did in the canyon, though there were bolts for many other, which were shorter and could be down climbed or handlined.
