Contact Mine GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

Contact Mine was a gold and silver mining operation that's still in pretty good shape. Getting to the mine requires a pretty boring walk through the desert, but the trail is easy to follow and this hike is sure to get anyone who is interested in old mining stuff in the desert excited. The trail heads through the sandy desert floor before ascending slowly on old roadbed remains. The road/trail winds around the desert hillside for a bit and then up to the Contact Mine, where there are a few old metal bits abandoned in the desert.

Walk through open desert. The Contact Mine is somewhere in those mountains on the right.
