Cochise Stronghold Trail GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

The Cochise Stronghold Trail leads through the pretty granitic landscape within the Dragoon Mountains of southern AZ. The area is known mostly to rock climbers, but the rock formations are gorgeous and worth checking out. The trail ascends to a saddle, passing a spring and a historic dam at Halfmoon Tank. From the saddle, the views of the southern slopes of Mount Glenn (the high point of the range) toward the granite pinnacles is really cool. The trail then descends to the northwest, passing nice foliage and more granite pinnacles before reaching the western trailhead.
