Cerro Grande GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

Cerro Grande is a summit on the edge of the Valles Caldera. Although within Bandelier National Monument, Cerro Grande is set quite far from the main attractions. Any car can reach the trailhead and a nice trail leads through sparse coniferous forest heading north up the moderate southern slopes of the peak. The meadowy landscape hints at nice views through most of the ascent, and Cerro Grande's summit doesn't disappoint. The peak translates to literally "Big Hill", and that's what it is. A big hill. But don't let that feel like a deterrent, the hike is quite nice.
