Bitter Creek Canyon GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

We thought Bitter Creek Canyon would require a rappel or two, but there were only 5-10 foot pretty easy Class 3 downclimbs, so a rope wasn't necessary. Instead, we got a full swimmer in nasty water, but it was worth being stinky for the drive home because Bitter Creek has some really gorgeous colors in its short slot section. From the end of Bitter Creek, the exit canyon heads up to the left on Class 2+/3 terrain, but you could go explore farther south where the cliff faces continue to be stunning. We didn't have time.

Find a good spot to enter Bitter Creek. If you go in too early like we did, you'll be bushwhacking.

And one unexpected really smelly swimmer. There was an option to rappel, but the rappel would have landed us right in the swimmer anyway.

Bitter Creek opens up. You could keep going, but we wanted to go do a technical thing, since this canyon had no rappels.
