Benson Creek Canyon GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

This is a technical canyon. If you are unfamiliar with how to build anchors or the gear required for canyoneering do not attempt this route.

Benson Creek Canyon was a surprisingly fun little outing off the road to Brian Head. The water was flowing, making an already pretty canyon even better. Starting from the Hidden Haven Trailhead, we followed the trail to a bit before the mouth of Benson Creek Canyon, heading southwest on a trail that breaks away from the main one. We located the cliffs to the south we'd be ascending, then left the trail through grassland and headed up, the trail slowly becoming more obvious that more we ascended. There were a couple of light Class 3 sections on loose rock, but overall it's just steep. The social trail leads along the side of a pretty slope and down to the head of Benson Creek Canyon. Each rappel was really pretty, none presenting difficulty.
