Baldy Point Area GPX Track

I need to offset my substantial website costs somehow! You can download a hike/drive GPX to assist you here. Before sharing my GPX tracks with others, please remember my site is otherwise a free resource.

This ended up being more of a wandering fun sort of thing within Quartz Mountain State Park. I intended to head up the Black Jack Pass, but most of the trail was so overgrown that I couldn't even follow it. So, instead, I scrambled to the high point known as Baldy Point, continued down its north ridge, and then attempted to find a route into the valley leading to Black Jack Pass, with no luck and therefore just wandered around on the hillsides for a bit. My convoluted map upload shows the gereral (though cleaned up) route I took, and a map that they have posted at the trailhead, with my notes. It's a really beautiful area, but the trail system needs some work.

I was totally off-trail, I thought, until I saw this rusted sign and knew the trail was just very overgrown. I decided to just go up to the boulders and explore for a bit.

A use trail brought me back down to the Cedar Creek Trail, right where it turns into the Black Jack Trail. I took the Cedar Creek Trail back to my car. It was very hot out.
