May 25, 2016 — Named for the slickrock the water pours from, Slick Rock Falls is basically just a roadside attraction. Although pretty, it's not a hike on its own. A trail leads past Slick Rock Falls through the forest to the base of Looking Glass Rock. The trail is pleasant, ascending along the side of a creek and through thick rhododendrons and otherwise dense greenery as it makes its way north. It was odd that the end of the trail was just the base of a cliff, though I assume it's used as an access point for rock climbers. The perspective from here looking up at Looking Glass Rock's sheer granite slabby face is pretty cool.
